Undefeated at 8-0, BMF World Champion, and the first fighter from Cyprus or Greece to win on Cage Warriors under the UFC Fight Pass system

Andreas turned professional in 2017 with one objective: the UFC. What followed is an unbeaten run across Europe’s top promotions, multiple titles, and a UFC pathway repeatedly disrupted by circumstances outside the cage.
After completing the most competitive amateur (semi-professional) MMA career ever achieved by a fighter originating from Cyprus or Greece, Andreas Tricomitis transitioned to professional Mixed Martial Arts fully prepared to compete at international level, with a clear objective: to reach the highest level of the sport and the UFC.
He made his professional MMA debut in 2017, immediately facing experienced opposition. His first professional bout took place at Almighty Fighting Championship 5, where he fought a Slovakian opponent of Russian origin with a combined amateur and professional record of 6-2. Andreas won the fight by unanimous decision, setting the standard for his professional career.

In only his second professional fight, Andreas competed for both the European MMA Title under ISKA and the PFC Championship at Prestige Fighting Championship 3 in Cyprus, a France vs Cyprus main event. He faced a former French MMA champion with Cage Warriors experience and secured victory by first-round submission, becoming the Professional European ISKA MMA Champion and PFC Champion.

In 2018, Andreas made history by becoming the first MMA athlete from Cyprus or Greece at the time to compete and win on Cage Warriors, an organisation operating under the UFC Fight Pass system and widely regarded as the most prestigious MMA platform in Europe and one of the most respected professional organisations in the world. In this bout, he faced a former two-time British amateur champion, undefeated at 7-0 and ranked No.1 in the world according to Tapology in 2016, while simultaneously holding the Shinobi and FCC amateur titles. Andreas won by decision, once again applying high-level judo techniques rarely seen in MMA at that level.
Later in 2018, he competed at Almighty Fighting Championship 10, winning by first-round TKO and continuing his undefeated professional run. In 2019, Andreas fought for the MMA Challenge Pro (MCP) EuroBalkan MMA Title, facing a highly experienced former K-1 Champion. The fight took place in the co-main event, where Andreas won by TKO, becoming EuroBalkan MMA Champion. MCP was, and remains, the number one MMA organisation in the Balkans, making this title a major regional achievement.

Following this period, Andreas continued competing at professional level across recognised European promotions, maintaining an undefeated record while consistently seeking opponents with championship backgrounds. During this time, his career momentum was repeatedly disrupted by multiple last-minute opponent withdrawals, making consistent activity extremely difficult.
In 2021, he returned under the BMF MMA banner for a scheduled bout against an opponent listed as 8-3 on the promotion’s official website. Once again, the opponent withdrew at the last moment, and a replacement was secured on short notice. Andreas won the fight by first-round TKO regardless.
In 2022, Andreas competed at FCC (UFC Fight Pass), earning a unanimous decision victory over a very experienced opponent who once again stepped in as a late replacement. Later that year, on July 16, 2022, he fought for the BMF MMA World Title in the United Kingdom after having secured a title-elimination victory in 2021. The bout was originally scheduled against an undefeated opponent with a 5-0 record from Leon Edwards’ UFC championship camp, who also withdrew shortly before fight day. This forced the promotion to find another replacement on extremely short notice, a 14-10 Cage Warriors (UFC Fight Pass) veteran. The fight marked Andreas’ 17th overall MMA bout.
After an explosive start and sustained pressure, Andreas delivered lethal ground-and-pound, forcing immediate medical intervention. The situation was extremely serious, with paramedics stabilising the opponent to prevent loss of life. Due to the severity of the scene and blood covering the canvas, the broadcast was temporarily halted. Andreas secured victory by TKO, becoming BMF MMA World Champion in one of the most brutal finishes recorded by the promotion.

In 2023, Andreas signed with First Round Management, a leading U.S.-based international management team. This is the same management agency that represents Jon Jones, widely regarded as the greatest MMA athlete of all time. From that point onward, Andreas’ career followed a clearly defined and structured path, with the sole objective of securing a UFC contract through the correct and officially recognised professional route.
Following direct discussions between his management team, the Ultimate Fighting Championship, and Legacy Fighting Alliance (LFA), a clear plan was agreed. The UFC required Andreas to compete in one professional bout in the United States, complete all medical examinations, licensing, and visa procedures, secure a win on U.S. soil, and then finalise a UFC contract immediately afterward. Based on this agreement, Andreas signed with LFA, the number one UFC Fight Pass organisation in the United States and the primary feeder league to the UFC.

Between 2023 and 2025, this process was repeatedly disrupted by an unusual and documented pattern of opponent withdrawals. Multiple fighters formally accepted bouts against Andreas and later pulled out, often deep into training camp. These withdrawals caused serious logistical problems and delayed his career progression. The situation was communicated multiple times by LFA directly to the UFC, as it became clear that opponents were increasingly reluctant to proceed and sign the contract.
In 2024, Andreas was given an official opportunity by the UFC as a potential late replacement. On June 22, 2024, during UFC Fight Night in Riyadh, he was proposed to face Denis Tiuliulin after Sedriques Dumas withdrew due to visa issues, as officially recorded on Tapology. Andreas, who shared the same management team as the opposing athlete, accepted the bout on just five days’ notice. Despite his readiness and UFC approval, the opposing camp declined the matchup, and the fight did not take place.
Following this situation, Andreas travelled to Azerbaijan during an official UFC event to address the matter directly at senior level. During the visit, he met in person with the UFC’s Vice President, Hunter Campbell, to explain the circumstances surrounding repeated opponent withdrawals and the missed opportunity at UFC Fight Night Riyadh. This level of official hosting reflected the longstanding international recognition, respect, and global connections of the Tricomitis family across sport, business, and institutional circles worldwide. The purpose of the visit was strictly professional: to clarify his situation directly to UFC leadership and provide full transparency regarding delays in his UFC pathway. The meeting confirmed that these delays were not due to refusal, lack of readiness, or lack of approval on Andreas’ part, but resulted from repeated external disruptions beyond his control.
In 2025, Andreas officially returns to competition under the LFA banner. He is scheduled to fight at LFA 219 on October 10, 2025, at the F&M Bank Arena in Clarksville, Tennessee, against an experienced opponent holding a 10-3 professional record and more than 20 combined wins across professional and amateur competition.
This bout was confirmed as a direct pathway to a UFC contract. The opponent accepted the fight, promotional material was released, and the bout was publicly announced. However, two days before travel to the United States, the UFC signed that same opponent as a late replacement for another event, offering him a fight UFC contract. As a result, the scheduled bout was cancelled, leaving Andreas without a fight despite full preparation and compliance with all requirements.
These events were not isolated incidents, but part of a repeated and documented pattern that significantly delayed Andreas Tricomitis’ entry into the UFC, despite approval from his management, the promotion, and the UFC itself.

As of today, Andreas Tricomitis holds an undefeated professional MMA record of 8-0, competing in the welterweight division, with European, Balkan, and World Championship Titles.
Overall, Andreas Tricomitis is regarded by many as the most complete and accomplished combat athlete to come from Cyprus and Greece. His foundation began in judo, where he competed internationally, represented his country at European and World Championships, participated in the Youth Olympic Games, and won multiple national titles under the highest structured sporting systems in the world. He then transitioned to mixed martial arts, where he dominated the amateur (semi-professional) level, winning the highest Amateur World Title available at the time.
As a professional, he achieved historic milestones, including becoming the first fighter from Cyprus or Greece to win on Cage Warriors under the UFC Fight Pass system, securing multiple professional championship titles, and competing consistently in major UFC Fight Pass organisations. This combination of Olympic-level sport, elite amateur dominance, and proven professional success has not been achieved by any other athlete from Cyprus or Greece. For this reason, Andreas Tricomitis is not defined by a single UFC appearance, but by a complete career built across every level of combat sport, supported by more than 30 years of active, competitive involvement in martial arts.
