Honoured by the Republic of Cyprus for a career in sport.

Andreas Tricomitis has been formally honoured by the two most recent Presidents of the Republic of Cyprus, Nikos Anastasiadis and Nikos Christodoulides, for excellence in Greek Cypriot sport.
In 2018, he was officially selected and awarded at the highest national athletic ceremony, held at the Presidential Palace, alongside leading athletes from multiple sports disciplines. On this occasion, Andreas was chosen among all Greek Cypriot athletes, reflecting national-level recognition rather than a federation-based distinction.
In 2023, Andreas received direct presidential recognition from President Nikos Christodoulides during an official meeting at the Presidential Palace, which he attended together with his father. Although this recognition did not take the form of a public ceremony, it constituted a formal state-level acknowledgment of his long-term sporting career, international representation, and continued contribution to Cypriot sport.

This form of recognition is comparable in status to international “Master of Sport” honours used in other countries and represents formal institutional acknowledgment of Andreas Tricomitis’ expertise, experience, and decades-long contribution to combat sports in Cyprus.
